The only constant is change

After some silent months on this blog an update is desperately needed!
Last summer DLC went through some enormous changes and developments, too fast to keep record of here. The unexpected possibility arose to leave the city of Amsterdam and built a new and even bigger Durable Lifestyle Center. Three weeks ago we left the studio at the Adelaarsweg. We are since deeply engaged in rebuilding and furnishing the new location.  The new Center is located in Gennep, Northern Limburg, at the edge of the forest. Some pictures of this fairylike location are included in this article below. From this location you can expect weekends, workshops and seminars around durable living in all areas of life, starting spring and summer 2012. My services as frontline therapist and representative of DLC are now available at your home; in Amsterdam, in Gennep and surroundings, or anywhere on the way between Amsterdam and Gennep. Next to my traveling around I am still working on the new website including a webshop for personalized aromatherapeutic bodycare products, which I create myself in the laboratory of the new Durable Lifestyle Center. Your answers gave me very valuable information!
I’ve been evaluating and have concluded the following:

234 out of 250 people answered the question.
That’s a freaky high amount of response, thanks so much for that all of you!
Your answers were divided as follows:

My conclusions:
1.
I was stunned how great the percentage of people is that are motivated to handle their life’s energy in a more durable (read: responsible, wise, balanced) way: altogether 95%!!!
Also the percentage of people that answered the poll: 93,6% of the people I invited.
Probably the percentage of response wouldn’t be so high if the poll was about a the newest toothpaste. Or is it just my charming approach ;-) ? However: I am grateful so many people are warmed up for what I think is the good cause: a durable lifestyle in honor of yourself and your surroundings.

We inhabit by far the most beautiful planet in our galaxy and it’s about time we start to honor that, INcluding our own well-being and worth.

I am heading the right way in my broad approach in all areas of life.
After all: near to half of you (49%) are concerned in durability in all areas of life.
Off course! Don’t we all want to grow old vital and happy?
I do, and it’s my greatest pleasure in life to attent to it that you do too.
This great percentage is a motivation for me to carry on my development into an all-rounder. Already I am deepening my knowledge about Aromatherapy. Since January 22 I am officially certified! Certifications in foot-reflexology and Reiki are soon to be achieved too.
– so you can enjoy even more advice and healing in my broadening package of services. Especially for women (and tender men): the endless possibilities in Aromatherapy have inspired me to broaden my services with Aromatherapeutic facial masks and footh baths, in addition to the Aromatherapeutic massage oils I’m already working with. From now on it’s possible to get a personal treatment with 100% pure essential oils, including home-made crèmes and oils for you to continue the treatment at home. I am not heading the right way in my initial focus on Diet Advice.
In planning my business I thought the online Diet advices would be a easy, cheap and accessible way to get in touch with you and get to know each other. This doesn’t seem to be so, since the poll (only 9%) and the meager reactions on my Diet page show that you’re probably not in the first place interested in someone unknown meddling with your precious and often secret dietary hang-ups…
A valuable lesson to learn!
My solution: The Diet Advices are now handled in the second level of The Durable Lifestyle Company. I removed them out of my package, me being the frontline of DLC. I involved my teacher Bastiaan Bosch, who is prepared to advice and guide you on demand through me. Bastiaan is orthomolecular Biologist and an ingenious expert on diet, food supplements and healing through diet changes. He booked some beautiful results in the treatment of diabetes and cancer.

The combination of Massage and Yoga services is very successful, especially the service at home. The poll shows what I also notice in my results: people are just as much interested in Yoga&Meditation as they are in Massage. Funny: it seems to be that men are more the massage type and women have a special love for the private yoga. Hopefully my new Aromatherapeutic facial and foot-treatments will motivate more women towards the massage table. Come on girls: we deserve! Check new page: Aromatherapy

Yummy breakfast

Good morning!
Breakfast determines the start of your digestive system and through that the way you feel about this day, which influences your mindset, which influences your choices for action… Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

Today I have a nice breakfast recipe for you.
No more need for unhealthy bread with sugarfilled topping and greasy butter…
It’s yummy, light, easy, quick and very healthy!

Don’t forget: drink a glass of warm (filtered!!!) water with lemon about half an hour before breakfast. This awakens your liver so it can already produce the juices needed for digestion. Through this your liver is not overwhelmed and you won’t get tired after eating. Also the food will be better digested, which has a positive effect on your weight. It also awakens your appetite, for the people not used to eat in the morning.

All right; so while your drink your warm water with lemon; prepare yourself this perfect breakfast:

 

 

 

 

  1. three tablespoons of quinoa and
  2. three tablespoons of millet (gierst)
  3. in a little pan
  4. add (filtered!!!) water, enough not to cook completely dry
  5. cook
  6. while cooking at a hand of:
  7. raisins, and
  8. gojiberries
  9. take of the fire before all the water is gone, so it is still a porridge
  10. at a little mealed:
  11. cinnamon, and
  12. cardamom, for the taste
  13. and some curcuma for your liver (the best is rasped fresh curcuma)
  14. add agave sirop or honey if you like it sweet

If you add honey, always add it afterwards! Never heat honey over 60 degrees; it becomes poisonous and looses it’s qualities. More about honey later today

The last Sallowthorn jam

Last week, at the full moon before the snow, I visited the lovely Kennemer dunes and found a hidden bush of not yet fermented shallowthorn (duindoorn). At home I made it into the most yummy jam ever.Without cooking, without sugar.

 

Recipe

  1. Wash the shallowthorn before you take of the berries
  2. Take of the berries
  3. Smash the berries in a hand-held blender
  4. Add hemp seeds to make the jam thicker and smash again
  5. Put as much honey or agavesirop as you like, until it has that irressistable sweet-sour taste
  6. (I didn’t, but it’s possible to add some agar agar to make it really jelly)
  7. Put the jam in an empty glass pot and close it airtight

You can keep this jam for ages!
